Mental health
officials are gathering Friday to get the word out about issues facing the
mental health system in Fairfield County. The Mental Health Community
Celebration is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Zane Square Bandstand in
downtown Lancaster. The free event features guest speakers, music and food.
The Fairfield Mental Health Consumers Group Inc., is hosting the event with
Lancaster Area National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Fairfield County
National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Fairfield Mental Health Consumer
Group, New Horizons Youth and Family Services, The Recovery Center, Mid-Ohio
Psychological Services, The Lighthouse, and the Fairfield County Alcohol,
Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board.
“The goal is to make sure that everyone in our community has a sensitivity
that there are a substantial number of people in our community that struggle
with mental illnesses,” said Orman Hall, executive director of the Fairfield
County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board.
