Services Provided: 24 Hour Emergency Services (687-TALK); Diagnostic Assessment; Counseling - Individual, Family and Group; Psychiatric Evaluations; Medication Management; Psychological Testing; Pre-hospital Screenings; Community Support Program; Residential Support; School-based Early Intervention Services; Community Presentations; 24 hour support line for those with severe mental disability 687-2277 (687-ACSP).

New Horizons Youth & Family Center Providing Comprehensive Behavioral Health Care: Making A Difference In Fairfield County Quality Of Life

  • Crisis Intervention services at FMC - long-time partnership with the medical center
  • Thriving mental health practice in Pickerington (PACS)
  • Contracts with many local school districts for Early Mental Health Intervention services - over 700 youngsters served in school per year 
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) contracts with 6 Fairfield County employers
  • Student Assistance Program with Ohio University-Lancaster
  • Service Contract (counseling/psychotherapy and psychiatric Services) with Meals on Wheels-Older Adult Network for specialized care for older adults and their caregivers
  • Service Contract (counseling/psychotherapy) with Fairfield County Job and Family Services for any displaced worker
  • Service contract (Early Mental Health Intervention) with West After School Center and Eastside Center For Success
  • 3 subsidiary housing corporations - 3 apartment complexes constructed and maintained by New Horizons (total of 23 apartments) - helps prevent homelessness
  • 5 Adult Care Homes under contract- helps prevent homelessness
  • Intensive Home-based therapy services for children/families: 2-year contract with Family Adult and Children First Council
  • Three internal, interdisciplinary treatment teams that meet weekly and are psychiatrist-led (includes 1 dual disorders team; one child-family team; one adult team)
  • Part of National Research project for Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment Program (one of only 4 initially selected sites in Ohio) - for persons with concurrent mental health and substance use disorders
  • Partnership with Fairfield Mental Health Consumer Group
  • An array of services: Diagnostic Assessment; Counseling/Psychotherapy; Crisis Intervention; Community Support Program; Early Mental Health Intervention; Medication/Somatic,
  • 45,788 direct service hours to 3,935 different people last year
  • Agency designated as the Chief Clinical Officer for the entire ADAMH Board system (pertains to psychiatric hospitalizations for adults) - outpatient services prevent hospitalizations.
  • Only 1-2 Fairfield County residents in the State hospital on any given day
  • Close collaboration with primary care physicians - strong correlation between physical and mental health - work collaboratively with mutual patients
